Frequently asked questions

Is my dancer too old to start dancing and what class should I take?

No! Dancers of all ages and levels are welcome in our dance studio.  Our programs are currently broken down by age, however as the studio grows we will add more levels.  We have trained dancers from ages 3 through high school and have also had dancers take their first class at 13, 16, 30 or even 60 years old.  Don't let anything or anyone stop you from giving it a try.

To figure out what to take, first look for the classes in your age range then pick the style.  If you need examples, there are plenty out there on YouTube and other popular social media platforms.

Why is my dancer repeating the same class for more than one year?

Our program is designed for your dancer to learn and grow at a healthy pace.  Young dancers usually spend the first year learning how to take class,  the second year developing more coordination, focus, and balance, and the third year being a leader in the class and solidifying all of the skills before moving to the next stage in their training.  Proper dance training takes time with qualified teachers.  The best way to advance your skills is to take more classes, work hard and have paitence.

When I look at my online account I see a negative balance, what does this mean?

The negative number represents your credit from the COVID-19 recital cancellation or any previous fees paid.  This credit will be available for one year from the date issued.    (Example -$100, this means you have $100 to spend before you will owe any payments)

What happens if there is another shutdown?

If the studio would need to close, your account will be frozen.  Any classes already taken will be prorated and you will have a credit that can be used for up to one year when we re-open.  We will not be able to issue any refunds.  Only a credit will be available.

Help! Navagate me throught the parent portal!

Log in using the email address on file.

Your tuition due will appear on the date that it is due.  (The first of each month.)

We do offer the option to have your account on auto pay.  Just click the box for auto pay when you are checking out or email us and we will add you.

What happens if I am on a wait list?

If a class is full we will offer the opportunity to join a wait list.  If there are enough dancers on the wait list we will consider opening a new class.  Dancers on a wait list will be given the opportunity to join the class in the order they added to the wait list.

I have a coupon from the Library for a FREE Class! How do I redeem it?

Does my toddler need to be potty trained to take Discover Dance?

Yes, we ask that dancers participating in our Discover Dance classes be potty trained.

Do you offer a drop in class rate?

We will no longer allow drop in students for our full season programs.

We will allow dancers to take a drop in class for a 6 week workshop if there is room.
